From the Studio to the Engine Room

When I first launched Vivia Studios, the name was born out of a desire to build a distinct kind of practice. It represented a room where considered work gets made by hand, where the craft is visible, and where we edit before we build.

It was a beautiful concept, and it served its purpose. But the longer I sat with it in the field, the more I ran into a very specific kind of market friction.

When you walk into an institutional room with Studios on your business card, human brains automatically default to the front end of the house. People hear “Studios” and immediately assume you handle graphic design, brand strategy, event aesthetics, or front-end marketing campaigns. They look at you and see a creative agency.

They don’t expect you to pull out the heavy wrenches, crawl into the backend plumbing, and aggressively overhaul a broken enterprise data pipeline.

They don’t expect heavy infrastructure.

I didn’t want to spend half of my networking conversations explaining why I don’t design brochures or write direct mail copy. But I also refused to swing to the other extreme. I wasn’t about to turn this firm into a flavorless, corporate-gray consulting factory that sounds like every other windowless conference room in America.

I needed a brand that balanced elite boardroom authority with our signature high-energy intensity.
So, we evolved. Moving forward, Vivia Studios is officially Vivid Operational Advisors.

The shift is deliberate. We traded the soft, artistic weight of “Studios” for the hard, structural reality of Operational Advisors. It tells an executive director, a university COO, or a board trustee exactly what they are buying on first impact: senior advisory expertise designed to stabilize their internal infrastructure. No guesswork, no translation layer.

But we kept the V and inspiration of Vivia and shifted over to VIVID.

Because our approach to operations isn’t clinical, dry, or buried in bureaucratic boilerplate text. Vivid means clear, distinct, and unmistakable. It represents how we walk into a chaotic development office, clear out the makeshift clutter, and bring vibrant, sharp clarity to data pipelines and workflows that are running hot. It reminds the market that you can have massive institutional weight without losing your personality.

We don’t hand you a 40-page binder of theoretical advice to file away. We act as your pragmatic implementation partners, building a functional backend baseline that actually holds under fundraising volume.

Our look is changing, but our niche hasn’t shifted an inch.

We are still your fundraising infrastructure partner. We are just stepping into the room with a name that matches the true scale of the execution we deliver.

Welcome to the next chapter: Vivid Operational Advisors. Let’s get to work.

Erin Peshoff is the Founder of Vivid Operational Advisors. She has spent thirty years inside nonprofit operations, helped raise over $100 million for institutional missions, and built Vivid around the operating discipline most strategic engagements skip.
