one small thing:
a Vivid INstrument

A four minute walk through our signature framework.

HOW IT WORKS

You name the goal, why it matters, and by when. Then four questions, one for each move in the Editor-Architect Framework. You can pick more than one answer, or write your own, because most situations are not one thing.

Edit the Friction. Assess. Take an honest look at what is already there. Nothing gets built at this stage, and nothing gets cancelled. This is the part that has to be true rather than tidy, and doing it first is what makes everything after it cheaper.

Architect the Flow. Dream. Say what good would look like if this were working. Most people skip this and go straight to fixing, which is how you end up building toward a picture nobody ever described out loud.

Curate the Space. Act. Now something actually changes. Not the plan for the change, the change. The smallest real version of it, this week.

Protect Capacity. Check. Decide how you will know it held. Room you clear without watching refills inside a quarter, so the date goes on the calendar before you forget you made the change at all.

At the end you get your goal at the top and four numbered blocks under it, each with what to think about before you do anything and the specific steps that follow. You can save the whole thing as an image.

What you leave with.

Four steps in order, each with a time estimate. Most of them run between two and fifteen minutes. One of them takes no additional time at all.
If you only get to the first one, that still counts.

One Small Thing

Pick one thing. Just one.

Four questions, run on our signature framework. You bring the goal. You leave with the order to think in.

Edit the FrictionTake a look. What is in the way, and where is there too much.
Architect the FlowDream a little. What does good look like here.
Curate the SpaceDo the thing. Change what fits how you work.
Protect CapacityCheck it held. Make sure it is still working.

Nothing moves because the fix looks enormous. So take one thing, put the rest in a folder, and go do that one thing well. That is why we edit before we build.

Four minutes. This is a solvable problem.

THE Next Step.

You already know what is in the way. You have said it out loud in the car, or on a Sunday night, or to whoever last asked how things were going. Name the goal, put that same answer in here, and see what order it comes back in. If what comes back is worth talking through, or you want the same four moves run on an operation instead of an afternoon, the door is open.
